SQL Offline Version 2.3 - Readme

This readme documents the latest recommended client drivers, issues, and updates.

SQL Offline uses client drivers to read from and write to data files and servers.

Installation Video

The Installation Video shows how to install client drivers, and how to list the supported drivers that are already installed on your computer.

Recommended Data Drivers

Note: If (32-bit) is specified for a data driver in the following table, you should download the 32-bit version of that driver.
You can install 32-bit ODBC and OLEDB drivers on a 64-bit operating system.

Access	2010 Office System Driver: Access Database Engine (32-bit)
dBASE	Driver: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Visual FoxPro 9.0
Excel	2010 Office System Driver: Access Database Engine (32-bit) (same as Access)
MySQL	MySQL Driver mysql-connector-odbc-5.2.4-win32.msi Windows (x86, 32-bit) Connector
Oracle	Oracle Client Driver: Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Client (11.2.1.0.9) (32-bit)
Postgre	Postgre Driver: psqlOBDC (32-bit). For example: psqlodbc_09_02_0100.zip
SQL Server	Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client: sqlncli.msi. (If running on Windows 32 sqlncli.msi)
Windows Azure SQL Database	Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client: (same as SQL Server)
SQL Server CE	SQL Server Compact Driver: Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0
SQLite	Driver: SQLite ODBC Driver (32-bit) sqliteodbc.exe

Older (and Newer) Data Driver Versions (ODBC and OLEDB)

SQL Offline works with prior versions of client drivers. If you provide a connection string, SQL Offline can also work with newer client drivers.

SQL Offline can connect to any ODBC or OLEDB client. However if SQL Offline is unable to identify the DBMS, the SQL language may not be correct (unknown providers default to SQL Server). As a general rule DML (Insert, Update, Delete) writes will be successful, but DDL (Create, Alter) modifications will not work. As a workaround, you can execute custom SQL.

[Feature Added] Added JavaScript for formulas and macros Documentation and Samples).
[Feature Added] Added native Windows Script Host (WSH) to formulas.
[Fixed] Mousewheel and dialog resize did not work in the script editor.
[Fixed] Could not specify function parameters when adding a function in the script editor.
[Issue] If you add a formula using the Functions dialog box, the default Param value is reversed. The correct order is: (nCol, nRow).

2.2.0.10 - SEP 06 2013 (2.2)

[Fixed] Oracle: When creating SQL script, type specifiers were missing for DATE and TIMESTAMP literals.
[Fixed] The OL Row Down button did not enable.
[Fixed] Excel: In the Open Data File dialog box, Always Use My Current Choice for header options did not work.
[Fixed] Confirmation dialog boxes no longer display during macro playback.
[Precaution Added] If a worksheet is loaded into Excel, Write Data that creates a sheet (or other DDL) in the same worksheet can cause SQL Offline to crash.

2.1.0.9 - JUL 06 2013 (2.1)

[Feature added] SQL Script now supports SELECT statements. Each SELECT creates an OL document which contains a snapshot of the query at the time SELECT executes.
[Feature added] You can now create new OL and SQL Script documents that include data links. In the ribbon OL tab, a New Linked button was added. In the SQL tab, a New SQL Script Linked button was added. If you select a data file or server in the Source window, the new document links to that source.
[Feature added] Refresh command added to the source window. You can use this after running CREATE TABLE to display new tables.
[Help added] Keyboard shortcuts added to the Interface topic in product help. For example, you can hold down the SHIFT key to display SYSTEM tables. Excel column header setup.

2.0.0.7 - APR 06 2013 (Initial Public Release)

[Fixed in 2.1.0.9] PostgreSQL: If you copy to a different table, clear the default (nextval sequence) for the ID column.
[Fixed in 2.1.0.9] MySQL: The 5.2a (ANSI) driver does not enable the MySQL menu.
[Fixed in 2.1.0.9] Cannot create a New Macro if OLB is not first loaded.
[Fixed in 2.1.0.9] Embedded videos in F1 product help stopped working after JUN 2013.
[Fixed in 2.1.0.9] Paste into multiple lines did not work if current selection was not first. Undo was not temporarily disabled if pasting over 1000 rows.
[Fixed in 2.1.0.9] Memo editor did not load Unicode files correctly.
[Fixed in 2.1.0.9] Text files (for example CSV) did not open correctly from Windows Explorer. Column and header link preferences were ignored during Reload All.
